The skill economy

October 11, 2026 1 min read

Bangladesh has a massive skill gap for its graduates. More and more graduates come out of our tertiary system without the skills needed to thrive and excel in today's modern economy.

It's not their fault. They are bright, eager and ready for a challenge. We have failed to utilize their energy and challenge them to be better. They want to be able to take on the world and then some but we insist on using age old systems which don't benefit them.

Sure we have a plethora of graduates and our metrics keep rising but we need to make sure our system is adaptive and competitive.

Bright gems are abound in our population. Hearty souls go on to go great things in the international sphere while others carve out kingdoms locally. We need to make sure these opportunities are available for everyone, not just the few.
